How to Control Crossplay in MLB The Show 26 on Consoles
#1
Method 1: In-Game Settings (PlayStation & Switch)
This is the quickest way to enable or disable crossplay.
  1. Access Your Profile – From the main menu, move to the top-left corner and select your Universal Profile icon.
  2. Go to Settings – Inside your profile, open the Settings tab.
  3. Toggle Crossplay – Look for the Crossplay option, usually under “Online Settings” or “Mode Specific Options,” and switch it On or Off.
Tip: If the toggle is greyed out, make sure you’re doing this from the main menu—not inside a mode like Diamond Dynasty.
Method 2: Console System Settings (Xbox)
Xbox users may need to adjust crossplay at the system level.
  1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
  2. Go to Profile & system > Settings > Account.
  3. Select Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy.
  4. Choose View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer.
  5. Find “You can join cross-network play” and set it to Allow or Block.
Managing Cross-Platform Friends
Playing with friends on different consoles requires linking accounts through an MLB The Show Account at theshow.com.
  • Adding Friends – Use the in-game Friends menu to search by their MLB The Show ID, gamertag, or PSN ID.
  • Accepting Invites – Cross-platform invites show up in the Game Challenges section of your profile, not as standard console notifications.
Note: Turning off crossplay can increase matchmaking times since you’ll only be paired with players on your own console.
