MLB The Show 26 May Spotlight Program Guide – Drop 4 Pack Breakdown
#1
The calendar has flipped, and MLB The Show 26 dropped its May Spotlight Drop 4 Program and Pack on May 29, 2026. This update acts as the final bridge before the highly anticipated May Lightning player arrives, giving Diamond Dynasty players a perfect opportunity to knock out some quick missions, stock up on new Spotlight and Topps Now cards, and finalize those lingering collections.
May Spotlight Drop 4 Pack Breakdown
If you are looking to pull directly from the Show Shop, the Drop 4 pack is currently sitting at 25,000 Stubs. However, budget-conscious players can skip the shop entirely, as you can also earn these packs naturally by progressing through the Drop 4 Program reward path.
The pack odds are straightforward: it is a guaranteed 1:1 shot at a 92+ OVR Diamond player, with a 1:4 chance of landing one of the top-tier 94 OVR Diamond players.
Here is who you can pull:
The 94 OVR Tier (1:4 Odds)
  • Colton Cowser (RF | Baltimore Orioles): A great option if you need outfield depth with solid pop.
  • Kyle Harrison (SP | Milwaukee Brewers): A strong starting pitching option to anchor the middle of your rotation.
The 92 OVR Tier (Guaranteed Base)
  • Heriberto Hernandez (LF | Miami Marlins): A decent bench bat or budget outfield option.
  • Reid Detmers (SP | Los Angeles Angels): A reliable lefty arm to mix up your pitching looks.
  • Bryan Torres (LF | St. Louis Cardinals): Provides utility and speed on the grass.
Program Reward Cards
If you prefer playing the game over tearing open packs, the Drop 4 progression pathway offers three distinct Diamond items that you can unlock entirely for free just by playing.
  • Colt Emerson (3B | Seattle Mariners – 94 OVR Spotlight): The prize of the program path, bringing an excellent hot-corner option to your lineup.
  • Adam Macko (RP | Toronto Blue Jays – 92 OVR Topps Now): A lefty bullpen arm that can help you shut down late-game rallies.
  • Tommy Troy (LF | Arizona Diamondbacks – 92 OVR Topps Now): Another solid utility outfielder to help fill out theme teams or collection tiers.
Efficiency & Collection Strategies
If you want to clear this content quickly and optimize your time, keep these strategies in mind:
  • Knock Out the Quick Progression: The program features 7 quick Moments alongside standard Parallel XP (PXP) stat missions. If you load your lineup with the required players, you can realistically wrap up the entire path in roughly 30 to 40 minutes.
  • The "Skip the Grind" Marketplace Route: If you are purely focused on obtaining the high-tier May Retro Lightning collection voucher and have Stubs to spare, you can bypass the gameplay entirely. Buying the lower-tier cards off the community marketplace grants you 15 program stars, while renting or buying the two top-tier 94 cards yields a massive 35 program stars. This allows you to instantly clear the program path.
  • Stack Your Progress with Conquest: Don't grind your PXP missions in a vacuum. Combine your Drop 4 player stats with the concurrently released Vintage Conquest Map. Doing this lets you multi-task your progression, allowing you to unlock an additional 93 OVR Nolan Arenado while finishing your Spotlight grinds.
